Plus non-optional fees:
      • $100 equipment fee (first and second year students only)
      • $135 book fee (first year students only)
      • $60 book fee (second year students only)
      • $300 photoshoot fee (third year students only)

All fees are in CAD$. * Tuition fees are subject to change. 

Please note that tuition payments cover approximately 30% of the costs of studying in the Professional Training Program at Dance Arts Institute. All other costs are funded by various government agencies; donations from individuals, foundations, and corporations; and performance revenue. All students, therefore, are subsidized by both the public and private sectors.

AWARDS AND PRIZES

The First-Year Excellence in Performance Award

The First-year Prize in Performance Excellence The First-Year Excellence in Performance Award is awarded to a promising first-year student who exhibits excellence in studio training and performance. Generously supported by The Turk Family Trust.

The Kathryn Ash Scholarship

The Kathryn Ash Scholarship is a merit-based award made possible by donations to the Kathryn Ash Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is awarded to up to two full-time students, with high academic standing, entering their third year of study, and is open to both Canadian and international students.

The Leslie Wood Leadership Award

The Leslie Wood Leadership Award is given at the end of the school year to honour a third-year student who has displayed exceptional leadership qualities and has made a significant contribution to school life. Nominations for this prize are received from students and faculty.

The Peggy Baker Prize for Performance

The Peggy Baker Prize for Performance is made possible by the generosity of our patrons and a donor-advised endowment fund established in the same name. The amount of the award will be determined and announced annually. The prize is open to all third-year students, and available to both Canadian and international students. The focus of the prize is to acknowledge artistic merit in performance, and to honour a graduating student as an emerging creative artist.

Winchester Prize

Through the generosity of Lindy Green and Sam Chaiton, Dance Arts Institute awards the Winchester Prize for choreographic distinction and perceived development of choreographic potential. The winning choreographer(s) will receive a cash award and support to further develop and, with the guidance of a mentor, remount their prize-winning work.

Welcome Bursaries

Welcome Bursaries are available for first-year students who exhibit financial need and have a commitment to dance training and education at Dance Arts. Generously supported by Alex Muto.

The Lindy Green and Sam Chaiton Tuition Bursary Fund

The Lindy Green and Sam Chaiton Tuition Bursary Fund provides bursaries to both international and Canadian students who have successfully completed one full year of the Professional Training Program, exhibit financial need, and show commitment to dance training and education at Dance Arts.

Spring Bursary

The Spring Bursary is open to current second and third-year students, and will be prioritized for students who identify as Indigenous, Black and/or a person of colour. Students must also be in good academic standing with the School and demonstrate financial need.

*The Spring Bursary is not available in the 2022/2023 school year.

Provincial Financial Assistance Programs

Students enrolled in the Professional Training Program may be eligible, if qualified, for assistance under the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP), or other financial assistance programs in their provinces or territories of residences.
