It is with mixed emotions that we share the news of Michelle’s departure as Managing Director of Dance Arts Institute. When Michelle joined our organization in 2017, there were numerous aspirations on the horizon, many of which have been accomplished. Her laser focus on financial sustainability and organizational viability and relevancy has been instrumental in strengthening the institution’s capacity to mitigate risk, innovate its programming, and welcome change. Michelle’s multiple contributions to the institution include growing fundraising to its highest levels, increasing its endowment by a remarkable 400%, fostering healthy and effective board governance, digitizing and modernizing operations, and leading the organization through the serious challenges of the pandemic.
Michelle will be taking on a new role as the Managing Director of Art Canada Institute, where she will focus on strengthening organizational capacity, and nurturing people and culture, which have always been among her many passions.
In her own words, Michelle expressed, “It is bittersweet to share with you the news that I am stepping down as Managing Director of Dance Arts Institute for a new adventure. We’ve achieved so much together, and I am grateful and honored to have been a part of the evolution and transformation of this beloved organization. Thank you for welcoming me into your community and trusting me to be one of the co-leaders of this amazing institution. My very best to you all and I look forward to your continued transformation. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
