Jane-Alison McKinney

Jane-Alison McKinney is a Toronto based dance artist. Her work has been presented by platforms including Citadel + Compagnie, Tangente, Expanse, The Saint John Contemporary Dance Festival, Summerworks, and Guelph Dance Festival. Jane-Alison’s work with Emma Kerson, hard wire, premiered at Citadel + Compagnie in 2023, and toured to Arts Orillia and Ottawa Dance Directive in 2024. In April 2026, she will premiere a new solo work presented by Citadel Dance Exchange in Toronto.  

A graduate of Dance Arts Institute (formerly The School of Toronto Dance Theatre), Jane-Alison has performed the works of a variety of dance artists in Canada and Internationally. In 2016, she was awarded a Metcalf Foundation Internship in Artistic Direction with adelheid under the mentorship of Heidi Strauss, and in 2022 was a performer in Heidi’s on air, which was nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble. She is currently a faculty member in Dance at York University.

Jane-Alison McKinney est artiste de danse basée à Toronto. Son travail a été présenté par des plateformes telles que Citadel + Compagnie, Tangente, Expanse, le Saint John Contemporary Dance Festival, Summerworks et le Guelph Dance Festival. La pièce de Jane-Alison avec Emma Kerson, hard wire, a été créée à Citadel + Compagnie en 2023, puis présentée à Arts Orillia et à Ottawa Dance Directive en 2024.  En avril 2026, elle présentera en première une nouvelle œuvre solo présentée par Citadel Dance Exchange à Toronto.   Diplômée du Dance Arts Institute (anciennement The School of Toronto Dance Theatre), Jane-Alison a interprété les œuvres de divers artistes de la danse au Canada et à l’étranger.  En 2016, elle a obtenu une bourse de la Fondation Metcalf pour un stage en direction artistique avec adelheid, sous la tutelle de Heidi Strauss. En 2022, elle a participé à la pièce de Heidi, on air, qui a été nominé pour un prix Dora Mavor Moore dans la catégorie «Meilleure performance d’ensemble». Elle est membre du corps d’enseignement en danse à l’Université York.
