Anna Finkel

Anna Finkel is an award-winning performer and educator working internationally across dance and physical theatre. Based in London, UK from 2007 to 2025, she created, performed, and toured original work with leading companies including Punchdrunk, Gecko, Ben Duke / Lost Dog, DV8, Handspring, Ace Dance and Music, and Douglas Thorpe.

Her long-standing collaboration with Punchdrunk includes co-devising the roles of Persephone in The Burnt City and Wendy (Woyzeck) in The Drowned Man, as well as performing Lady Macbeth in Sleep No More in New York City and Shanghai, where she also served as rehearsal director. Her screen credits include BBC4’s The Time of Your Life, Alex Kurtzman’s The Mummy, and Alex Garland’s Annihilation.

In Canada, Anna has worked with artists and companies including Heidi Strauss, Sharon Moore, Susanna Hood, Kathleen Rea, Keaja d’Dance, Dancemakers, and Le Groupe Dance Lab, where she was a company member under the direction of Peter Boneham and Tony Chong. Anna trained at The School of Toronto Dance Theatre (now Dance Arts Institute) and holds an MA in Dance Performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London. 

As an educator, Anna has taught internationally to companies and students of both dance and theatre. Her focus is on integrating the two forms of performance centering embodied storytelling practices. Anna is also a qualified intimacy coordinator and director, supporting performers and productions across dance, theatre, film, and television.
