Ame Henderson

Ame Henderson works with dance and choreography. With a practice that spans publication, performance and exhibition, her work proposes experiential modes of being together. Her long-term collaborations include the collective experimental company Public Recordings, with whom she produced and toured over a dozen ensemble works from 2005-2015, and Toronto Dance Theatre where she collaborated as a choreographer, outside eye and mentor from 2013-19. Henderson is currently touring Show Gone the final dispatch in a triptych of duets co-created and performed with the Croatian artist Matija Ferlin, and is a co-creator of The Chains by Evan Webber, and a dramaturg for Katie Ward’s new creation Hyper Portrait. Henderson has facilitated choreographic practice in a variety of contexts including University of British Columbia – Okanagan, University of Calgary, Toronto Dance Theatre, Toronto Community Love in and Banff Centre. Ame Henderson travaille dans le domaine de la danse et de la chorégraphie. À travers une pratique qui englobe les publications, les spectacles et les expositions, son travail propose des modes expérientiels de se rassembler ensembles. Parmi ses collaborations de longue date, on peut citer la compagnie expérimentale collective Public Recordings, avec laquelle elle a produit et présenté en tournée plus d’une douzaine d’œuvres d’ensemble entre 2005 et 2015, ainsi que le Toronto Dance Theatre, où elle a collaboré en tant que chorégraphe, oeil externe et mentor de 2013 à 2019. Henderson est actuellement en tournée avec Show Gone, dernier volet d’une trilogie de duos co-créés et interprétés avec l’artiste croate Matija Ferlin. Elle est également co-créatrice de The Chains d’Evan Webber et dramaturge pour la nouvelle création de Katie Ward, Hyper Portrait. Henderson a animé des ateliers de chorégraphie dans divers contextes, notamment à l’Université de Colombie-Britannique – Okanagan, à l’Université de Calgary, au Toronto Dance Theatre, au Toronto Community Love-in et au Banff Centre.
